We Remember Jessie
March 17, 1994-June 28, 2008
From the day we opened, our girl Jessie was a beloved fixture in the shop. When she wasn’t following her “mom” around, she was lying in front of the counter waiting for that next treat or show of affection from a customer or perhaps testing out a new rug. Or, if the weather was pleasant and the front doors were open, she would lie across the threshold with her front legs on the sidewalk, her back legs in the shop (froggy style) and her nose in the air to catch a breeze or the aroma of a local restaurant.
If she recognized you, she might
meet you at the door or even at
your car. She was a beautiful,
loving companion who became
special to many who grew to
know her over the years. She
left us in the summer of 2008,
and the shop has never been the
same. She lived a long, happy life, and it was her time. But it was still too soon.
We Remember Nikki . . .
Nikki was our “unplanned” child. She came to us when her mom – a dedicated foster mom to many homeless dogs - sadly passed from Cancer in 2004. Nikki had been through 4 homes in her lifetime, and we were pleased to give her a happy home in her final years.
Hairless, toothless, and blind in one eye, we were often asked is she was a cross between something...to which we generally replied, "yes, she is a cross between a live dog and a dead dog."
Actually, she was a 4 lb Pomeranian who stole the heart of everyone who saw her as she sat proudly in her basket behind the counter. What a tiny little doll she was!!
We Remember Miss Prissy . . .
Miss Prissy came to us through a local rescue group and though your wouldn't know it by watching her asleep in her "bed" behind the counter, she was mischievous and full of energy. She was also our fearless little explorer. Let her down on the floor and she could be in Barrow County in a matter of minutes if you didn't watch her closely.
Customers and consignors loved to hold her interact with her...to get her to speak to, or dance for, them was a real treat. We lost Miss Prissy in July, 2009 and sure do miss her unique dance when it was time for a treat or for dinner. We think we made her happy in her final years. We know she made us happy!
